After successfully developing the Plan of Management for the Goulburn Recreation Area, Goulburn Mulwaree Council partnered with a qualified consultant (CPR Group) to develop a Master Plan which will provide an overview of the area and develop a long term strategic direction. The Master Plan will ensure future projects are developed and progressed in a manner that is consistent with the direction of the area and satisfies the requirements of the Community. The Master Plan was designed to provide a long term vision, to balance the needs of the community with financial and logistical realities which ensures any developments are delivered in a structured and sustainable manner.
CPR Group met with Council staff and stakeholder groups to learn their short and long term requirements in order to develop a Master Plan that will enhance the facilities commercial potential, support tourism and promote its role as a regional sporting, recreational and community hub. We are aiming to redevelop existing buildings and open spaces to maximise their multi use potential now and into the future. All future developments will utilise the design guide which will see a coordinated approach to upgrades by referencing colours, materials and plant species; promoting consistency across the Council managed space.
As part of the community engagement process, the Master Plan is being displayed to gather feedback. Hard copies of the Master Plan have been left at the Library, Civic Centre front desk, the Aquatic centre and the Recreation centre. Residents are encouraged to read the draft Master Plan and provide feedback. Your participation in this stage will help shape the future development of the Goulburn Recreation Area.
