Council is seeking your feedback on a proposal to permanently close the laneway at the end of Show Street, refer to the attached plans.

Council has received a request to permanently close the laneway due of increased vehicular traffic and speed.

What is the Proposal

The proposal is to close the laneway at the end of Show Street as shown in the attached plan by installing bollards. The closure of the lane would still provide access to pedestrians and cyclists.

Benefits of the Proposal

• Stop vehicles using the laneway as a short cut between Goldsmith Street and Bradley Street.
• Increase the safety for pedestrians, school children and cyclists using the laneway as there has been reports of vehicles speeding along the laneway.
• Reduced noise from vehicles using the laneway at all hours of the day and night.
