Goulburn Mulwaree Council is seeking community feedback on proposed pedestrian safety improvements on George Street, near Marulan Public School. This project is proudly funded by Transport for NSW Get NSW Active Program 2024-2025 which provides local councils with funding for projects that create safe, easy, and enjoyable walking and riding trips for communities across NSW. Council reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing road safety and creating safer school environments.
The proposed works include the installation of a raised pedestrian (wombat) crossing with improved lighting to increase visibility and prioritise pedestrian movement. These upgrades are designed to provide safer access across George Street for students and families, reducing the need for unsafe crossing along this busy section of road.
By encouraging lower vehicle speeds and promoting positive driver behaviour, the new crossing aims to create a safer, more connected community space for all road users.
We invite parents, carers, residents, and local stakeholders to have their say on this important safety upgrade. Your input will help shape the final design to ensure it meets the needs of the Marulan community. Please scroll down to the Survey section to provide your input before 15 July 2025.
The proposed worksite is illustrated in the figures below.
