Background

In 2019 Council introduced a temporary parking permit scheme to assist residents, hospital and school staff and visitors to park during reconstruction of the hospital site. The scheme was planned to end when construction works were completed.

In 2023 Council endorsed an extension of the parking permit scheme and requested a review of the parking arrangements in and around the hospital. A review of the parking showed that most parking spaces in and around the hospital and school were occupied but less than 30 percent of vehicles displayed a parking permit.
