Goulburn Mulwaree Council is inviting community feedback on proposed safety improvements near Goulburn East Public School, located on Park Road. This project is proudly funded by Transport for NSW Get NSW Active Program 2024-2025 which provides local councils with funding for projects that create safe, easy, and enjoyable walking and riding trips for communities across NSW. Council, aims to enhance pedestrian safety and address specific traffic challenges in the area.
The proposed works include the installation of a raised pedestrian (wombat) crossing with upgraded lighting to improve visibility and prioritise pedestrian access. This location has been carefully selected due to the steep gradient on Park Road, which can increase vehicle speeds—creating a heightened risk for students and families crossing the road.
The new crossing is designed to slow down traffic, increase driver awareness, and provide a safe, clearly marked crossing point for schoolchildren and the broader community. These works will also encourage more responsible driver behaviour and support a safer school zone environment.
Council welcomes your feedback on this important initiative. Please scroll down to provide your valued input in survey section by 15 July 2025. This will help guide the final design and ensure it meets the safety needs of the Goulburn East Public School community.
